Artist Claire Howarth has just opened up a new little art gallery along London Road, Newbury, showcasing work by local artists and makers.
She says “The Gallery is only small, but benefits from great roadside visibility. We’re hoping to catch the eye of not only the local people but the commuters passing through the town, plus adding some much needed colour to a very drab road.” The artwork will be rotated on a six-week turn around, allowing plenty of artists throughout the year a chance to showcase their work.
“I have been overwhelmed with support from the local community and especially artists and creatives wanting to be involved.”
The artists involved in the first intake are:
Red Kite Glass studios
Tony Hackett photography / limited images
Becca M Brown tattoo artist
Jane Brind, textured acrylic & ceramics
Rachel Davis artist
Deborah Honey driftwood sculptures
Llinos Gale ceramics
Claire Howarth art
Louise Shepard artist
Hand made rocking horses
Lisa Hutton jewellery.
